Program Completion Schedule

Flexible schedules will accommodate your needs. The program can be completed in as early as 20 weeks. However, each student can complete the program at his/her own pace.  You must complete the course and take the exam in the same year that you start  the course.  

 

Test questions at the end of each chapter set must be forwarded to MedTech upon completion. Results, answers and rationales will then be sent to the student. A grade of 70% on each chapter set exam must be achieved to go on to the next chapter. Students not achieving 70% on a chapter set exam will be notified and must redo the exam.

The course includes:

  • Online Instruction from certified PMCC Instructor  
  • Career counseling upon course completion
  • Letter of Recommendation upon passing the final exam (80% or better)
  • AAPC membership - (1 Year)
  • All required  current year textbooks:  
    • The Professional Medical Coding Curriculum Student Manuals
      • "Step by Step" and "The Next Step"
    • CPT - Professional Edition  
    • ICD-9 - Professional Edition  
    • HCPCS  
  • Additional recommended materials include:  
    • Principals of CPT Coding  
    • Tabers Medical Dictionary, 19th Edition
    • Exploring the Medical Language by Myrna LaFleur Brooks
